The local Northern Territory Government will be supporting the organization of Oceania Panhellenic Games with the impressive sum of 200.000 AUD. This year’s Panhellenic Games will be held in Darwin with the participation of over 400 Greek – Australian athletes, from Australia and New Zealand.
As SAE Oceania Coordinator, George Aggelopoulos, stated to ANA – MPA, the generous contribution on behalf of Northern Territory Government, will contribute to the sound execution of the Games.
“We sincerely thank the Northern Territory Premier, Paul Henderson, on his gesture”, stated Mr. Aggelopoulos.
As he underlined, Mr. Henderson’s government cordially embraced the 2011 Darwin Panhellenic Games, to be held from September 29th, until the 2nd of October 2011.
The relevant announcement was made by Mr. Henderson during the Wine Feast organized by the Cypriot Community of Darwin.
The President of the Greek Community of Darwin and Chairman of the Games Steering Committee, Giannis Nikolakis, noted that all possible effort is made so that this year’s Panhellenic Games will be the most successful to date.
“The state government and the entire Greek community have taken action to ensure their success. We look forward to hosting hundreds of athletes of Greek origin from every corner of Australia and New Zealand in our city”, stated Mr. Nikolakis.
