Thirty-seven years have passed since the ominous day for our Cyprus, causing so much pain and destruction. Thirty seven years later, Hellenes worldwide join our voices to state that “We do not forget” the disastrous consequences of the Turkish invasion in Cyprus; the violation of human rights, the occupation on 37% of Cypriot ground, missing persons, refugees, the destruction of cultural and religious heritage…
Committed to solving the Cyprus issue, an international problem, Greeks around the world reiterate our commitment to support, with all our strength, to achieve an ultimate, just solution, for the benefit of the lawful residents of our Cyprus.
Given that conditions for the promotion of functional and viable solution are getting harder, we realize that unity of all the forces of Hellenism is now required more than ever. In this context, the World Council of Hellenes Abroad, since its establishment, firmly supports the International Coordinating Committee “Justice for Cyprus” (PSEKA), and the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK); assisting the struggle of every Cypriot government, hoping that the day will come soon, when we will all be celebrating the achievement of the desired solution.
