It is our pleasure to announce that on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Montreal at the Cultural Center of the Hellenic Community of Montreal, the Youth Department of the Hellenic Community of Montreal with SAE Canada Youth Network is co-hosting a Day Event dedicated to Hellenic culture entitled “Insight to Hellenism”.

The mandate of the Youth Department of the Hellenic Community of Montreal is to unite and empower youth of Hellenic descent in the Greater Montreal Area through various events and activities.

SAE Canada Youth Network’s main goal is to promote Hellenism by bringing together Canadians of Hellenic descent and strengthening the link between the next generation of Greek-Canadians and Greece while preserving and promoting Greek language and culture in coordination with local Greek-Canadian youth organizations.

For the first time, these two organizations have come together to organize this event aiming at educating young Canadians of Hellenic descent on Greece’s National Issues, informing them on recent socio-political and cultural developments concerning Greece and Cyprus today, as well as initiating collaboration between the various Greek-Canadian youth organizations.

Invited to this Day Event are young people of Hellenic descent from across Eastern and Atlantic Canada who will be given the unique opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and experiences as well as to be informed of issues such as, the Cyprus Problem, the FYROM Issue, the return of the Parthenon Marbles, the Youth Hellenic Board of Trade, and the New Acropolis Museum.

They will also be given the opportunity to discuss topics including, Greek and Mediterranean cooking, the creation of a North American Newsletter on Hellenism, the organizing of a Hellenic sports tournament, the future and support of Greek Students Associations in Canadian Universities and learning more about Greek Orthodox Faith and Religion.

SAE Canada Youth Network will be co-hosting similar events in other parts of Canada in the near future.

The detailed program of this event is available at www.saecanada.net and www.saecanadayouth.net.
