«Expatriate education» programme continues unhindered

The World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) hails the decision by Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs Minister Anna Diamantopoulou to revoke announcement No.15242/29-9-2009 based on which the Expatriate Education programme offered by the University of Crete was essentially abolished as an independent and distinct programme.

In a letter to Diamantopoulou, SAE President Stefanos P. Tamvakis expressed the sincere and heartfelt appreciation of all board members for this decision. For the record, SAE had filed a relevant request to the minister a few days after she assumed her duties.

“This development offers the opportunity to continue and utilize further all efforts made for the benefit of the education of the expatriates which constitutes top priority for SAE,” Tamvakis stressed among others in his letter.
