Thessaloniki25.06.2009

The launch of the books coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Greek Operation in 1939 and the series will be completed with the publication of the names of all the Greeks persecuted between 1920 and 1950.

The books have been published in Russian and will soon be translated into Greek, English, German and French.

“Tens of thousands of Greeks of all ages were sent to Siberia and Kazakhstan,” Ivan Savvidis stresses in the book preface, underlining that those years are among the most tragic in the history of the Greeks in the former USSR.
