The Thessalonikean Society of New York honored visiting Metropolitan Anthimos of Thessaloniki with the Aristotelian Award on Saturday evening in Queens, New York.
Accepting the award, Metropolitan Anthimos thanked the members of the society and referred to the issue of the FYROM name maintaining that “a solution is hard to be found,” stressing, however, that the name Macedonia is non negotiable.
The Aristotelian Award has been recently established in recognition of people who fight for the solution of the FYROM name issue.
“A composite name that includes the term Macedonia constitutes a threat for peace and stability in the Balkans,” Pan-Macedonian Association USA Supreme President Nina Gatzoulis stressed.
Archbishop Demetrios of America added that “history cannot change and Macedonia was, is and will be Greek.”
