SAE Canada Regional Coordinator addresses letter to Canadian PM on FYROM’s NATO accession issue

SAE Canada Regional Coordinator Costas Menegakis made an appeal to Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper to “refrain from bringing forth any motion to include FYROM as a member of NATO” in the Bucharest Summit and “recommend against FYROM’s inclusion” until the name issue is resolved by Greece and FYROM.

“As Canadians of Hellenic descent with a vested interest in South East Europe, we believe that an amicable and fair solution on the dispute must be reached prior to the accession of FYROM into the NATO alliance, so as to ensure the political stability and economic prosperity of the region,” he stresses on behalf of the 350,000 Canadians represented by the SAE Canada Region.
