Military Service and Social Security issues
The reduction of military service for Greek expatriates advocated by SAE in 2003 is a very important issue for young Greeks abroad. It was handled by the then Alternate SAE President Stefanos P. Tamvakis responsible for SAE youth issues who had tabled a relative proposal in the ministry of defense.
In November 2005, a decision was reached reducing the military service of Greek expatriates from six to three months proving that SAE’s advisory and consultative role can be very constructive allowing the voice of Omogeneia to reach the homeland from different parts of the world.
