A delegation of the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board (HEPO) and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) is visiting Johannesburg within the framework of the Business Forum organized by Eftichia Xidia, head of Greece’s Economic and Commercial Affairs Office in South Africa.
On Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, SAE Africa–Near/Middle East Regional Coordinator Charis Gouvelis hosted a reception in honor of the Greek delegation.
Main speaker was South African International Trade and Industry Ministry Alternate General Director Igbal M Sharma who referred to existing infrastructures in the country and investment opportunities in view of the hosting of the 2010 Football World Cup.
SAE wholeheartedly supports such initiatives based on the firm belief that through business and economic cooperation the goals set by the Greeks abroad are being met. Gouvelis attended business meetings and other events held within the framework of the forum.
SAE’s cooperation with ACCI will be promoted in the Region with events held in various countries acting complementary to the initiative for the establishment and operation of a SAE Business Network. An agreement was reached on the form of cooperation between the Region’s countries and HEPO in a number of sectors of mutual interest.
